My name is Tara Lauderdale, and I am the FOCUS Team Director at MIT. I am from Tulsa, Oklahoma, and I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in History from Oklahoma State University. As a FOCUS missionary, I primarily lead small group Bible studies, meet with students one-on-one, and collaborate with the TCC council and Father Moloney to help make the TCC the best and warmest community it can be! I chose to become a missionary with FOCUS because I absolutely love sharing Jesus Christ with others, studying and teaching His word, and helping MIT students to grow in their Catholic faith, so they can teach others to do the same. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me for anything at all! I am here to serve the TCC community, and it is a great joy!
Hello! My name is Greg and I am a missionary for Focus serving at MIT! It is a great joy to share my faith with the undergraduate and graduate men. I am originally from the Philadelphia area of Pennsylvania, and I graduated from the College of the Holy Cross with a dual degree in English and Catholic Studies. I love the outdoors, and my idea of a great weekend is renting a cabin at a national park and exploring! (Acadia is a great choice.)
Hello Everyone! My name is Catherine Alex and I am one of the FOCUS missionaries here at MIT. I am from Idaho and I graduated from Boise State University. I love singing, music, superhero TV shows and movies, I Love Lucy re-runs, and all things Jesus!
I am John Ortega, and am a first-year missionary with FOCUS. I hail from The Land, Cleveland, Ohio, and I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Health & Societies (Public Health) from the University of Pennsylvania. I have used my degree to do research on Catholicism in health as well as to research the "Newman Movement" -- the history of Catholic centers at secular universities like MIT. I am a proud Filipino, and love to partake in cultural events and activities! I also am a photographer (Let me know if you ever need some photos!), and have a general interest in the Visual Arts, especially cinema! One of the greatest joys of my undergrad was working with my Newman (Catholic) Center at Penn, working with students to grow in their relationship with Christ and spreading that love, heart-to-heart, with others. If you ever need someone to talk to, shoot me a message!
